Rose is Rose presents the extraordinary nature of everyday life as seen through the eyes of the Gumbo family. The strip stars child-at-heart Rose and her ASD (Attentiveness Surplus Disorder) husband Jimbo. Their gentle son Pasquale is watched over by his Guardian Angel who morphs from tiny cherub into gargantuan protector. Family kitten Peekaboo boasts that her humans are the cutest in town. Readers relish the romance in Rose and Jimbo's marriage, yet cheer the emergence of Rose's rebel alter ego, the fearless, wild and ready-to-roll Vicki the Biker

Jerk Clem up by that Carrot Stalk of a Hairdo, Get Medieval upon his Nether quarters until verily they doth Glow like the Apples he so rudely reviles, Banish him to lonely Exile in his Room and then go bake a few Apple Pies with the rest of the Family…. Sorry all, but I know/work with/deal with too many self absorbed, spoiled, sulky ingrates in Real Life to find ANY Humour in such Behaviour. And, YES, I am very well aware that it is only a Cartoon! just as the Anti Feline Troll brigade is free to put forth their Views here that I might ignore THEM… I have put forth my own View on this Subject and am quite content to BE ignored in turn by those who might Disagree with me!

You need to get out of the house more.

I’d say stay in more to prevent dealing with the riff-raff so elegantly (and accurately) described.

Well, I wouldn’t torture the English language so, but in general, I agree with you. But every strip has its annoying characters, and we’re free to avoid reading those strips. I just glance at the ones that irritate me and move on.

I wonder where they live because I’m in NC and our apple season has been over for a month or more. Also, wasn’t it just yesterday that they were admiring the colorful leaves, but this tree is still all green and our trees are about half turned. This strip should have been presented maybe back at the beginning of September.

Apparently you don’t know that Clem is a “she”, not a “he”. But she is written to be Pasquale’s selfish cousin.

Clem is a he, look back at the bathing suits this past summer, HE wears trunks, and ALWAYS has.
And before you say “well girls that young don’t always wear tops,” 1. they do this day and age, and more relavantly, 2. Mimi, the younger girl wears a one piece that covers her top.

Sorry, but go to the Rose is Rose wikipedia entry and it clearly states Clem is a girl. I believe that before I believe you.

Makes me wonder how Clem would behave at a cocoa plantation.

No, Clem is a he, he has been referred to a Master Hog & “him” or “he” or something as “his” in various strips.

You believe wikipedia that can be changed by people who don’t know the truth? Go by the comic strips themselves. Go to http://www.nightswimming.com/rose/clem.html & look at the last 2 strips on the page. HE is called MASTER Hog & SIR in those two. I do believe that the CREATOR of the comic would know more than someone who altered a Wikipedia excerpt.

Just checked with Wikipedia, where Clem (in the Rose is Rose article) is clearly “he” and “His.” So, phritzg, you are either the perpetrator or the victim of a nasty silly practical gag. Clem is a boy, and a disciple of Ayn Rand. Future candidate for VP on the GOP ticket.

You’re wrong, Clem is a boy and not a girl.
