Pasquale is not really selling to himself; he’s just drinking his own lemonade. At the end of the day, he takes his own money back.

Five kids, ages 5 to 8, were standing outside their house at a small card table with a couple of pitchers of lemonade and their little signs and were just too sweet to ignore. The lemonade was 25cents a cup, cold, and had that Country Time brand lemonade flavor. I gave them a dollar and told them to keep the change. They were ecstatic and the lemonade was delicious just because of where it came from.

It’s not the profit that’s wrong; it’s what people do with the profit. If you use your money to improve the business, create empoyment and make your area a better place to live, and pay the taxes you rightfully owe to help improve your state and country, fine. If you hide your money to avoid paying taxes, outsource your company’s labout to save money, reduce employment, and make your state a worse place to live, that’s not right.

Only when you take over a company, make it take out loans to pay you back, then sell off its assets to pay off the “investors”. Have a good day.

Make sure the cup is smaller than 16oz, list nutritional value and various disclaimers on the cup and make a large donation to the DNC and anyone can open a lemonade stand.

Actually on the books, if the child were to keep one, It would be a sale. A sale no matter from what source is always revenue and must be accounted for in every instance.

So while Pasquale bought the lemonade. The company ledger actually would show the sale. So yes he made a sale. Even if it was to himself. As for taking the money at the end of the day. Some of that money would actually go into paying for the cost of the lemonade ingredients, water,as well as perhaps his salary..

Depending on how he has set it up. There also could be rent (doubtful) on the stand itself or more than likely the cost in materials on building the stand itself.

Sorry, old Bus. 101 classes flashback.

Exactly. once upon a time it was called corporate social responsibility.

Now it is all about how much money can one make, out source jobs and cry about taxes. All at the same time.

And, of course, you don’t use any deductions when you do your taxes, do you? As far as paying what you owe, how much is that? Business can only shelter what the government allows them to.

No, profiteering is just capitalistic, ensuring that the people are deprived in order to enrich the capitalist. For some unfathomable reason, Americans seem to worship that form of economics without question.

Saskfan: Most profit is bad. Insurance against future loss is called savings; saving it up for expansion rather than paying some bank forever is called internal financing. The three other forms that don’t have euphemisms is money not paid to (stolen from) suppliers, workers, or customers and are much more common. Thou shall not steal.
