…and today’s comic reminds me of a joke (don’t they usually?):

I was seven years old and my mom gave me a yo-yo. I was excited and took it outside to play. With anticipation, I put the string on my finger held the yo-yo out at arms length and gleefully watched if fall to the bottom of the string.

Expecting it to climb back up into my hand, I was disappointed to see that it just stayed at the end of the string and swayed some. No one had told me that you had to jerk your hand up when it hit bottom to get it to return.

I rolled the string up into the yo-yo and released it again with the same result. For over half an hour I tried to get my yo-yo to work, all in vain.

I was so frustrated, I sat down on a curb and began to cry. My grandfather saw me sobbing and asked me what was the matter. With tears in my eyes I looked up at him and said, “I can’t get it to go back up!f”

Whereupon, my grandfather sat down on the curb next to me and began sobbing.

Have a good day yo, I mean y’all.

You know I’ve never noticed a Flamingo’s ‘knees’ before. So I just looked this up when I saw your picture.

“If you’ve seen flamingos (and some other long-legged birds, like cranes), you’ve probably noticed that, when they walk, their legs bend in the opposite direction of human legs. How can their knees bend that way? The answer is, they don’t. What appear to be flamingos’ knees are actually their ankles. Their knees are up closer to their bodies, hidden by feathers, and they are actually standing on their toes.”

I love to learn this stuff!
