Two people watch the last episode of Mad Men. Woman: I'm going to miss those suit-wearing chauvinistic white males obsessed with selling Americans things that aren't good for them! Man: Don't worry... the republican debates will begin soon.
You know Harley, your posts really do match your rather clownish icon. And I can now see where I got confused and compared you to Gov. You both certainly espouse the same hatred of anybody to the left of the likes of Rush Limbaugh!
Please allow me to explain the great truth of current (and likely up to 2016 at least) American politics, that is if you can even handle the truth!
The truth is that just about 25% of the American voting public is as ultra conservative as you are. Hooray for your side! And just about 25% of the American voting public is as rabidly liberal as you are conservative. Hooray for the other side! The rest of us, are the 50% that is somewhere in the middle of the political spectum. Hooray for the rest of us!! Further, it is that very 50% in the middle that is going to decide the next POTUS, whether the extremes like it or not!!
It is now, at this time anyway, perceived (and in American politics, perception is all important) that Hillary Clinton is a realatively moderate and independant candidate, at least in comparison to all of the current Republican candidates at least. And all of the dirt that can be thrown at her by the Republicans is only going to increase that perception (hint to the ultra conservatives, even here). So, whether you like it (and I am certain that you don’t) or not, at this time anyway, she IS going to be the next POTUS by a landslide vote!
Now, IF (and it is a whopping if) the Republican Party can come up with a reasonably moderate candidate that would debate the issues, and not sling mud at Hillary, then she might just have a real problem. As an example, such a candidate would be Jon Huntsmann. But just look at what the extreme right wing of the Republican Party did to that worthy gentleman. Unfortunately for this great country, gentlemen never seen to win in American politics. Sad, but certainly true!!
At any rate, I personally bear no ill will towards anybody, even the extremes of the American political scene. So, do Have A Great Day!!
