With the actions and inactions we are witnessing in Washington DC every day, where is the rage? I have Emailed my senators & reps a few times, expressing my exasperation about the direction this country is being taken. Have you?

‘Do-nothing’ includes the Democratically controlled Senate.

That’s kinda the way the system is set up. Which is why the House Republicans get all kinds of brownie points for repealing Obamacare 50something times. Their base is too stupid to process the fact that nothing one house does has any effect until the other house also passes it- and the President signs it. So, if one house of congress is wasting time repealing Obamacare over and over and over, the other can only sit and watch until they actually do something relevant.

That’s actually worth doing, though most people would tell you that elected officials don’t pay any attention. Each of them has staff assigned to keep up with how the letters and phone calls are trending. They really want to know what the folks back home think, because they want to get reelected, and this is as valid to their thinking as a poll.

Actually, Obama was the president elect in Dec 2008. He didn’t get sworn in until Jan 20th 2009. It is W’s signature on the Wilberforce bill. Nice try on passing the blame though.

With a 99 to 0 vote a veto would never work.

Actually it’s the democrat liber base that is too stupid to realize they are being lied to & just lead around like little puppy dogs.

I’m sorry, but if the President wants Congress to work with him perhaps he should also try to work with Congress. And if he wants to get a specific bill passed over Congressional opposition he should make a case to the public about that bill. Simply complaining that “Congress won’t let me do stuff” sounds like someone looking to pass the buck on his own failures. (Which might explain why the cartoonist ignores the fact that Democrats control the Senate, and therefore half of Congress).

From Senator Warren’s office and two Reps, I did! One was actually written in specific respone to my Email!

I am unaware of the historical event you reference. Please advise me of when (1) Congress proposed to pass a bill only upon specific terms; (2) President Obama agreed to these terms EXACTLY; and (3) Congress then demanded additional concessions before it would agree to pass the bill.
