    Yes! Destroy every gun on the planet.
    Melt them and reuse the metal for other purposes.

    Then people will be killing people with other instruments. Not a good argument.

    Not only that, but those other instruments are so clumsy and inefficient, the US would lose its first-place rating if we had to rely on them.

    Stop the War On Drugs and the shootings go way down. We had the same thing during prohibition. The police and prison lobbies are the only reason we still have a drug war that was started by Reagan and continued by several drug users, Clinton, Gore, Bush Jr, and Obama. The justice system is for the elite, they break the laws we go to jail for.

    NO
    First we need to address hatred and intolerance….and all of the “sins” ..

    NO
    If we “regress” to less lethal weapons, the death rate will decline.
    This is common sense, or should be…

    @dfrechet

    “In 2002, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) estimated that 35 percent of all traffic deaths occurred in crashes in which at least one driver or nonoccupant had a BAC of 0.08 percent or more and that any alcohol was present in 41 percent of all fatal crashes in 2002.” A more conservative figure is this:
    “These statistics are all estimates based on incomplete information. Often they are estimates based on other estimates. However, 12.8% of all drivers involved in fatal accidents in the U.S. during 2001 are known to have been intoxicated according to the BAC laws (.10 or .08) of their state. This number is based on a systematic examination of the official records of each and every accident involving a fatality during that year in the US. It is based on factual evidence rather than on estimates or guesses.”

    Trying to compare Syrian governmental mass murder to mass shootings in the US is completely ridiculous. It is insulting and degrading to both the people murdered in Syria and to those murdered here. For shame.

    A U.N. gun grab would make 33k dead a weekly total not yearly and play right into the hands of the turner diaries nuts. You urban dwellers have zero understanding of how this plays in 80% of the land mass. If they see a light blue helmet shoot first and never ask the ?
