Yep. For one thing, their Federal Health care benefits don’t go away if they lose their job.

Making them flip burgers for their service is fair.

“And they are exempt from Obamacare even if they keep their jobs.”

If they keep their existing benefits for the rest of their lives, why would they need to be in HeritageFoundationRomneyObamaCare? They’ll already be covered for the rest of their lives.

Right, like this would happen. He’d land in a cushy “advisory role” or “think tank” job in any of a dozen corporations or interests whose agenda he’s been pushing through the halls of power all his career- a well-paid life of leisure supported by his gold-plated Cadillac taxpayer-supported health plan.
Working’s for the LITTLE people, don’t you know….

This would be poetic justice! The crash in 08 wiped out the savings of at least 2 friends who thought they had it made, for living in retirement.
This guy probably ha it made in the shade, but economic disaster can and does wipe out a persons savings every day!
If the market fell in a big enough way, some mere millionaires could go broke.

A tornado, a hurricane, a fire, a flood, would wipe anyone affected, if it weren’t for the government bailouts.
Even the governors who hate bailouts the most have their hands out when a disaster comes to any part of their state. (Rick Perry for 1)

But a serious expensive and long lasting disease is what happens to most people who find themselves gone from well off to flat broke.
Getting your car totaled and any injuries that go with it, if you don’t have enough insurance can put a serious dent in your lifestyle.
So even though it may not happen to this guy, or any of the “I’m alright Jack” politicians who have taken care of themselves royally, Just don’t think this couldn’t happen to you.

The talking point about “congress being exempt from of Obamacare” is a fake conservative talking point that makes no sense, like the made-up death panel. Every company (congress included) that provides health care is exempt from Obamacare. Obamacare is for people who don’t have coverage from their employers, and affects some employers who don’t cover their employees.

Now you’re being as silly a McCain (he said Americans won’t pick lettuce for $50 an hour, then ended up getting letters from his constituents telling him that they would). The president proposed that the minimum wage be increased to $9 an hour since its lower than it was in the 1960’s. It should be ten, but at least some of these people could afford to feed their families and probably work two jobs instead of three.

An increased minimum wage would take many people off of Medicaid and reduce government expenses. Thus lowering the deficit.

But the right would rather whine about the cost of burgers instead of eliminating subsidies to mega corporations and reducing the deficit.

An increased minimum wage would also enable people to get off food stamps and find time to improve themselves and work into a better job. Why is this a bad thing? Raising burger prices a dime or so would hardly cripple business.

  12. ARodney

Why is this a bad thing? Because liberals are for it. Doesn’t matter if it’s a good idea or not. It’s against their religion to pass any law that Obama would be willing to sign. Hence the dismal record of this congress.

“Never mind Jase, you would not believe it.”

Meaning you can’t be bothered to make any kind of meaningful counterpoint.

We know that never happens. The daisy chain of in govt, out govt, into business and back again. Ever revolving.
