Can’t call it global warming anymore. Too many facts get in the way. Lets call the seasons “Climate Change”

They changed the lingo around because as the average global temperature increases, you will get changing weather patterns that cause more extreme weather phenomena.
Science corrects itself to adjust to new info.

    Glad someone here gets it.
There’s more energy in the atmosphere = more variation in weather patterns.
The big snowstorms this year, incidentally, are ALSO a byproduct of global warming. Less snow total, but warmer air carries more moisture, so when it falls, there’s more of it.

When the temperature gets up to 63 or 64 degrees, you guys in the Northeast, down to NC are going to have 17 year cicadas all over the place.

The argument isnt wether or not global warming exists it is Did Man cause it?
History shows periods of heating and cooling cycles over and over again. Just another scare tactic to seperate you from your money for tax purposes.

History shows these periods brought on by extended periods of increased volcanic activity, or extraterrestrial events (large meteorite strikes). The current warming trend is seeing similar CO2 levels without either of these factors. Man is the current cause. The problem is compounded by our unwillingness to adapt to the situation by reducing fossil fuel usage on a large scale, simply because the people making the money from fossil fuels tell us we can’t and that the current warming trend is part of the natural cycle.

Seems that each and every lunk head fond of denying scientific data has minimally developed thought processes…
Speaking of thought, many thanks for your mind challenging post!

I remember being at an Oriole night game in early April. It was so cold I was wearing long johns and a fleece coat and was still cold. A relief pitcher came into the game and when the crowd saw he was wearing short sleeves you could actually hear the gasp.

Ditto here in Boston. Refer to Viking myths of Ragnarok instead of Revelations…

Keep in mind that there are many who won’t even accept the fact that change exists. Some will admit change exists but state that humans didn’t cause the change.

I am willing to accept the idea that the climate is changing, and that there is a man-made component. We also have seen a dramatic rise in respiratory ailments like allergy and asthma, and changes in the health of fish and other wildlife.

We all can hopefully accept the fact that dirty air can cause respiratory problems, that dumping pollutants and chemicals into the waterways can cause harm to life in those waterways, and that life is part of the food chain.

Even if it is only partly due to man, wouldn’t it make sense to do what we can to reduce chances of health damage for future generations? Even if we don’t stop the climate change, we could at least look forward to breathing easier and seeing skies of blue rather than grey.

Things would be different if we could eat money.

and back to the point of the ’toon:

You think it’s bad now: Now that we have more playoffs, the game goes into November. That won’t be a problem until Boston plays the Cubs in the World Series, and all games will be postponed due to weather. Maybe we can have the Series in the spring, or in a neutral site. Or maybe we could remember it’s a summer game, and plan the schedule accordingly. Dare to dream…..
