    It seems to me if one behaves honorably and ethically towards your fellow man, there will be nothing to be ashamed of if your email gets hacked.

    @Ted Lind:

    You are correct as far as that goes. On the other hand, history shows that “honorable” and “ethical” have different meanings when despots and dictators are looking to silence their critics. “Give me liberty or give me death” can be the rallying cry of a freedom-loving honorable person, and it can also be an invitation for the secret police to pay a midnight visit to arrange for a sudden and permanent disappearance.

    Many a good society has been led down the path with the phrase: “if you haven’t done anything wrong, you have nothing to fear”.

    There is no man who has led so blameless a life that he can afford to have all his private doings made known to the public.

    Anyone who says “if you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear” should be forced to install Internet-connected cameras in every room of their house and leave them running and uncovered 24 hours a day.

    And if they object… well, they must be hiding something….

    Newsflash: Sony has pulled the release of “The Interview” because the hackers threated to unleash “9/11 style terror” on movie theaters.

    Question: how much does the U.S. spend on DHS and all it’s branches (FBI, CIA, NSA)? How much on the Pentagon? Security, at large and all in? How much, in Dollars and percentage of the GDP?

    And then some teens, sitting in pajamas in dad’s basement eating Cheerios and using a glorified abacus, can cause multi billion dollar losses to a California company by simply CLAIMING to be able to pull a 9/11 all over again?

    Money well spend? I don’t think so! In Morty’s America the jack booted stormtroopers would already be trampling their faces into the concrete…
