Who do you choose to support

    Assad’s forces

The secular raiders, whom are essentially pillaging ruins or fighting with the Islamists for territory

The Islamic Jihadists, whom hopefully will tone down Islam once they take over

The Kurdish rebels whom are now preparing to create a separate country, but at the same time provide best protection to those within territory

The disjointed rebels whom have been integrated into various militias

keeping in mind that if you give aid to any group, the immediate result will be that the other groups will bare grudges

Giving military aid to one side or another works when there is somebody whom you actually want as a victor

you could always copy the previous approach and simply bomb the hell out of it, but considering that there isn’t much left to bomb. that will not work.

My personal preference would be to copy France during the Rwandan civil war essentially securing a passage out of the country for refugees, it proved to be low cost, low casualties, saved millions of lives and none of the factions got upset because none objected.

that said it was the USA that originally prevented it from being a UN backed strategy

Ominus has no source for his claim. Neither does Ima, but you don’t seem quite so bothered by that.

Now THAT’S funny. Tell an outright proven lie, and then accuse your opposition (who believe the truth) as being in denial of facts. Ima is like Herman Cain: a performance art project designed to make conservatives look idiotic.

Some countries define tear gas a a chemical weapon. Here in the US it is used routinely allong with pepper spray.
Before we start bombing, someone need to come up with definitions of chemical weapons.

Now I know what’s wrong with Obama – he’s color blind! The main color such people have trouble with is red. They see it as brown. So he’s safe with the “red line” comment, as he can’t see it!

There are no facts about Sadam’s WMDs ending up in Syria. Only that military convoys went into Syria at night. They could have carried WMDs or works of art or…..anything.

Syria is where saddam’s WMD’s ended up. Just as we were told.

You really do believe all the wing-nut crap Fox News feeds you, don’t you?

    @Zuhlamon

from ima “Syria is where saddam’s WMD’s ended up. Just as we were told.”
    .
from Zuhlamon “You really do believe all the wing-nut crap Fox News feeds you, don’t you?”

from my comment “Only that military convoys went into Syria at night. They could have carried WMDs or works of art or…..anything.”

There is also no evidence or documentation that those convoys didn’t carry WMDs. The comment you made is very parochial and reflects that you only obtain information about this subject that supports a preconception or that you are being intentionally deceptive.

Aha! Yet there is absolutely NO evidence that WMD’s were sent on the convoys. Maybe they never existed, and were just a fabrication to start a war.

Syria has had chemical WMD for decades, and Saddam admitted in a post-capture interview that he had been bluffing about the WMD because it was the only thing he had to stave off invasion and hold onto power. The Syrian Baathists were his enemies, not allies, and fought against him in Gulf War I – why the hell would Saddam turn his weapons over to them (Iran’s friends) when one of the main reasons for chemical weapons was to keep the Iranians at bay? Also, no way in hell could Saddam hide such shipments, as we had the place blanketed with military assets, especially in the Dora Farms.
    .
The nuclear threat – the main so-called reason why we went to war – was non-existent. Interesting too that the weaponized CW that Saddam was supposed to have wasn’t used on the invaders. But isn’t it also interresting that Ms. Ima is parroting the recent Fox News meme about the WMD shipments to Syria.
