Don’t handle prairie dogs. They carry it as well as succumb to it. Haven’t heard of any cases in Boulder county for some time now.

Sounds like the work of a serial dog killer. Animals don’t commit suicide.

Just so long as one of these plague carriers stay out of major cities. Think about it, a Plague Carrier in a large population. Talk about a Disaster Movie.

For now, Bubonic Plague is easily cured with antibiotics. 80% of antibiotic use is routinely used for farm animals and that’s wearing out our antibiotics faster than they can be invented. It’s just a matter of time until the Black Plague kills millions.

Be careful with armadillos, they can carry Hanson’s Disease aka leprosy. It is rare but it can still happen. The armadillos have evolved to carry it without harm. We haven’t.

How odd that dogs would jump to their deaths. I wonder what is motivating them to do such a thing? Maybe they are lured to their deaths. But by what agency I only have wild speculations.

Not wearing out, the organisms are becoming immune to them because of the ubiquity and dosage allows enough to survive each time to evolve into resistant strains. The same goes for Humans too. Soon we will be like it was before 1920 when there were no antibiotics.
