    God was looking out for both of those men; the British lost 57,000 men on the first day of fighting at the Battle of the Somme, 43,000 of them in the first hour. The total losses for the battle were around 500,000.

    interesting about woodlice though they creepy good thing C.S. Lewis and J.R.R Tolkien survived the battle of the Somme in World War I or we wouldn’t have Narnia or the Lord of the Rings trilogy, eh y’all?!!!!!!!

    They really should have saved the item about CS Lewis and JRR Tolkien one day more for the anniversary of Lewis’s death, but I suppose it would have gotten lost in all the talk about that other death on Nov 22, 1963.
