    I don’t believe it.

    Gee, it must have been pretty warm 50 million years ago. It had to be caused by human activity. Oh, wait, humans haven’t been around that long…

    @Radish,
    I suspect that Lengberg was relieved to get it off his chest.

    More likely you are referring to the antarctic tectonic plate.

    Florida was under water at one time. We find plenty of sharks teeth in the phosphate mines.

    I seem to recall manmade Antarctic jungles in two different comic book universes.

    Carbon dioxide isn’t the only gas that will warm the climate. Sulfur dioxide is another; guess where SO2 and other sulfates come from? Volcanoes! Like the huge volcanoes that produced the Deccan Traps.
    BTW, speaking of Antarctica, you can find Lovecraft’s At The Mountains Of Madness and other stories at wikisource dot org. Hundreds of writings by Robert (Conan) Howard, too.

    As long as I’m here…the problem is only partially the rise in global temperature (though it might be a bit inconvenient to have New York City under a few hundred feet of water), it’s also the rate of temperature rise. In past eras the rise was relatively gradual, giving species time to move or adapt to different conditions or to mutate to avoid predators. If the current rate of rise continues this is not possible.

    They forgot the best part of the name ‘Older Holder’.
    They found a 600 year old
    ‘Older Over the Shoulder Boulder Holder.’
