Change that to a fifty, and that was me. I do appreciate the silver lining pep-talk.

Wouldn’t whether he qualified as a philanthropist depend on who picked it up?

You have a good point, but I’m not so sure I would agree. A person is a philanthropist regardless of who benefits from it.

In my view it’s just like paying taxes. If our share of the tax goes toward social programs, are we a Mother Teresa type? If it funds war, would that make us a murderer?

Once we decide to give money away, accidentally or otherwise, we are a philanthropist.

“Don’t think of yourself as a witless boob”. I’ve got that part covered.

If I find it, it will go in a special piggy bank. At the end of the year, it gets emptied and the contents go to the local ASPCA (along with a check from me).

If you lost it at the Space Needle about two or three years ago, thanks!
