Behold, two rabbits: Eightball, an ever-upbeat offbeat optimist, and Weenus, sarcastic and small, one-eyed, bitter. The latter is possessed by an Ignatizian longing for the unobtainable Trixie -- bohemian, reader of existential philosophy, master of the diatonic button accordion. And please take note of the foxes: Pif, rabbit-friend, smarter than he looks, caretaker of Jumpy the flea; and Preston, Pif’s dad, a hardcore carnivore, rabbit-hungry and dangerously dumb. There is beguiling beauty in this strange and colorful world, and also a duck named Doodles. Did we mention the MacGuffin in the briefcase? Let the show begin.

What is American food nowadays?

Bald eagles eat fish. Also, its either chop suey or chow mein, I forget which, invented here. The ruben sandwich, invented in Omaha. TV dinners, American, so are potato chips.

My own mixture of corn chips, pepperoni slices and split pea soup was created right here in the US!

I did not know that split pea soup was American (I also didn’t know that dill pickle chips were Canadian… I thought it was salt & vinegar chips that were)… I thought pease porridge (Ireland… 16 hundreds) was the same as split pea…

Usually the strips have to be drawn weeks in advance. Jonathan, did you make a lucky guess that the Ravens would be in the Super Bowl, or was it change-able as of two weeks ago?

@rgcviper
Either a lucky guess or a last minute dialog change.

The pizza we eat is American and bears little resemblance to the original Italian dish.

Most “Thanksgiving” foods are especially American — cranberries, cornbread, pumpkin pie.
