Things have been very rough here on my domestic front. Household crises abound. Been very hard to get ahead and keep ahead.

Sunday’s strip is delivered, but it was past the cutoff point. I may just put it on the FB page. Check in tomorrow to see if it’s up- (and if Monday’s is up)

    We’ll get ahead yet.

No, it’s just the rain making everything look blurry. But don’t tell Roy- his app says sunshine.

This is the kind of gag that loses its meaning over time. Cartoonists today still do this. A lot. If you’re too contemporary, you can be satisfied with being funny today, but you may be an enigma tomorrow.
Thankfully, Skippy is more often timeless.

Speaking of padding- I always wondered how Santa developed the way he did. If I were just now creating a guy who spends all night going up and down chimneys, my first thought would not be to make him really fat.

@phritzg: No, the pants are belted where they should be. They’re just too long like the rest of the suit.

They altered the name to something like ‘Dieman-Marcus.’ But the point was clear.

This Santa is based on some of the really bad ones I remember as a kid. Cheapest possible beard and suit, and thick, scratchy glasses that aren’t even close to the style you would expect on the jolly old elf.
