At today’s prices, that kid would have had to take out a second mortgage to pay for that cone.

I was out walking my dog one evening on a Catholic college campus that was hosting a conference for priests. We came upon one priest who was standing alone, transfixed by the sight of several lightning bugs around him. Apparently he was from some part of the world that doesn’t have lightning bugs, and he thought he was having a religious experience.

Cowardly, but probably a pretty good idea.

If an ice cream plant smells anything like a cheese plant, I can understand why he never eats ice cream. Once, when I was working for a company that sold food products, I had to stop on my delivery route and pick up some cheese from a plant in Pittsburgh. The smell inside the plant was overpowering, to say the least.

When I bought my first GPS, I programmed it to take me home from the store. It was OK until it got me near my house. It told me to drive right past the street I live on even though the street was clearly marked on its map. Out of curiosity, I followed the directions to see where it would take me. I ended up out in the middle of some farmer’s field. When I got home, I had to let the GPS know that where we were parked was my home.
