@TheTrustedMechanic and @ARodney, do you really believe the current economic woes are caused by the Bush era tax cuts? Do you really believe that if the “ultra rich pay just a little bit more” we’d be solvent? Does $1.1 Trillion sound like a little bit more to you? That’s a lot of money! I doubt even the top 10% have that kind of cash. The VP even said the “little bit more” would add up to $800 Bilion over TEN years. That’s a drop in the bucket against the over spending the current president is doing. What would you have said about Pres. Bush if he hadn’t had a budget passed by congress? Obama hasn’t even had one come to the floor of the House in four years. Time for another change!

While I would agree that congress is responsible for spending and so forth, I must point out that the current president has not had a budget brought to the floor of the house during his entire administration. This means that the gov really has no budget and is simply spending willy-nilly. It’s no wonder that we’re spending beyond our means. I can see how he got elected; we deserve what we get if we re-elect him.

I was getting worried there for a minute.

Didn’t the Dems control both houses of congress for most of the last Bush administration? Six years? Didn’t Obama have a super-majority for his first two years? So congress has been controlled by Dems for 8 of the last 12 years, no? Who’s responsible?

Clinton said the math doesn’t work for the Repubs. Doesn’t work for the Dems either; Obama is currently doing exactly what Clinton said Mitt & Co. are promising to do: spend spend spend and cut taxes. A pox on both parties.

And wasn’t it Clinton who signed the executive orders that de-regulated the finance industry? And I distinctly remember the economy going to the dogs in 1999. The Dot-Com disaster. Remember what happened to your 401-K in 99 and 2000? Clinton has certainly not lost his touch; his administration was notorious for its untruths, half-truths and scandals.

@Finalorbit – it appears to me that you’re the one who’s being brainwashed. You really believe that the big three-letter-networks are not biased? They’re owned by admitted far-left liberals. the newsrooms are run by liberals, the newscasters are liberals . . . they even think that George Stephanopoulos is a conservative (at least that’s who they get to offer the conservative view). Where’s the balance?

@Lynne B – Have you never noticed that it’s the liberals that are usually doing the name-calling? Look at your own posts before you answer. And note that both parties had a hand in building the wall.

@greyolddave – it was the dems who pushed through all those free trade agreements. Pres. Clinton signed all the agreements with China and made sure that they were sold or given the technology to compete with us. And the shipping of jobs overseas has been going on for a long time. Remember Ross Perot and the “great sucking sound?” Jobs went to India before China became a player. Blaming Bush sounds good, but to anyone who’s been paying attention you just sound mean.

It was Pres. Clinton, through executive orders, that deregulated the finance industry and set us up for the massive failures and “bail-outs.” It’s a matter of public record; do your own research. The Bush administration tried to stop it before it got out of hand but the Democrats who were in control of congress wouldn’t let ‘em. There’s you’re party of NO and partisanship friends.

I’m still having a good chuckle over Nate’s face in yesterday’s last panel! And I’m looking forward to the look on Mrs Godfrey face when she realizes why Nate’s been so good all week.
