During Covid, my Blackie needed fluids because of his kidney failure. I had given fluids to a cat before and thought I could do it again, so the vet and I decided to alternate in giving fluids to Blackie. My turns did not go well. Even with my neighbor’s help, Blackie would not stay still on the table. He tried to wander off or jump off or climb my neck (no claws out). When my neighbor got the needle in, she couldn’t get it to stay in. I told the vet what a difficult time I was having so he let me come inside the clinic and watch how they gave fluids. A tech sat Blackie on a table and rubbed his head and ears. The vet put in the needle and walked off until the tech called him back to stop fluids. Blackie never offered to move. I ended up relying on the vet to give the fluids. With the vet’s help, I had Blackie close to another year.

Unfortunately, the comics are not the only casualty of our “local” paper which is no longer even printed in Tennessee’s capital city. We lost our local reporters along with much of our local news.

About a month ago at least half of our Sunday comics were dropped and our daily comic page was restructured. It is no longer recognizable. Long standing favorites have been replaced. While your detailed drawing with subtle shading have not shown up well in our daily black and white pages, other comics that are simple line drawings have been dropped.I am grateful that GoComics is providing a home for you and others. I also see the need to support you with Patreon. Hang in there, you have a lot of folks who look forward to your daily drawings and the family of commenters you have collected.
We had about 90% eclipse of the sun by the moon and a 100% cloud cover in my part of town. The area did darken for two or three minutes as if before a thunder storm. So glad I got a good view of the moon and sun during an eclipse a few years back.
