I never saw girls forced to climb a rope at any time in my school days. The lack of arm strength makes it a waste of time. Dodge-ball is what most girls would dread in 4th grade.

They buy them all, hopefully without all of them knowing it. I’ll bet Paul is fuming at seeing himself depicted as a dog. The only ones they won’t contribute to are the ones they are SURE would work against the 1%‘s interests. And those guys aren’t in the Republican party (not even Paul).

It’s not clear what she’s watching here. If it’s a candidate’s speech or debate, what is she saying here, that she’s good at the old razzle-dazzle BS that politicians spew?

All those who support Cruz, Perry, Walker, Bush, Cristie, etc., should see this. They’re falling for this nonsense from the candidates, and never, EVER learn.

Looks like he was stuck for an idea. This is not a great one by any means.

Marigold is being rather dim here. At this point in the history of the strip, she should have a more comprehensive answer.

Schulz whining about women already. As an only child with a mother who died young, he seemed to have a chip on his shoulder about women. One of his biographers blames his first wife for the negativity of the Lucy character.

A kid that young would never really be able to finesse her way out of this. She’d just bluntly say, “I want to be important in the world, and I’ll never be that by running this business.”

Too bad this basically represents the childhood (almost) nobody ever had. Too many of us grew up in city areas with lousy climates. It sure seems to me that many cartoonists want to show life in the US at it almost never was, through a false nostalgia.

“Nerd” isn’t really an insult. It could be a lot worse. Wait ’til junior high.
