So health care doesn’t function like other businesses? Businesses pass their uncollected bills to their consumers through increased prices. Remember a few years back when the right’s battle cry was “any taxes on business are passed on to consumers?” It’s the same thing, just not a government-mandated tax. Are you suggesting that folks who pay their hospital bills are NOT subsidizing the uninsured? If that were true, there’d be no private hospitals left in business.
