Life was so much more fun before all this social media hit us. I know that when I was their age, I was in the NAVY, and I am SO grateful that the internet didn’t exist!! Man, that could have totally ruined my future…LOL!!!

I know from family experience about flaky parents. My nephew and his (now ex-) wife had adorable twin girls. The wife flaked out and left them with my nephew. Honestly, he isn’t even suited to raise a pet, let alone twins! He is an adolescent in a grown man’s body! My sister has adopted them and is now raising twins who are nearly six!

I had a Chihuahua who loved carrots. When I would go to our local farmers’ market, I would have to give him a carrot before we could even go home. Meeko even rejected bacon! I had to explain to my nephew that pork was not eaten in my home!!

I often wonder WHY Aunt Betty hates Jimbo so much! His costumes are always cringeworthy and I always feel so sorry for him!!

That takes me way back! I actually had a Thumbelina doll when I was a child. She had a wind-up knob on her back and she moved like a real baby! NOW I have figured out who Mimi reminds me of!

It’s not just teenagers or college dorms. When I was in the NAVY, my roommate and I shared a house on the base. She was due to go on leave one afternoon but we had had our regular inspection. When the Senior Chief opened her closet door, Mt. Laundry came falling at his feet!! She had to get all that laundry done before she could be signed out on leave…LOL!! Yes, I was a good roommate and helped her! She is still my best friend to this day!

My heart goes out to both Wren Fahel and littlejohn.Happy Fathers My father left our family when I was in my early teens and my mother became both Mom AND Dad. I was her caregiver through ten of her twelve years fighting Alzheimers. It’s heartbreaking to watch and yet, I would do it all again!! For those of us who have single parents taking on both roles, I wish them all a Happy Fathers’ Day. Love your parents while you have them…that chance can be over before you know it!

Oh yeah, we could definitely make SOME sailors blush!! The funny thing is, I AM a sailor!! Spent four years in the U S NAVY and believe me, I could definitely tell some great stories!

I worked for several years as a utility company Customer Service Rep. It was a very stressful job at times!! I went out and bought myself and my coworkers each a big bottle of bubbles! Some days you would walk into our lobby and there were bubbles everywhere!! We even had the permission of the regional manager! Hey, it calmed us down and we avoided losing our minds!

I used to ask my Mom the same question. She was a single Mom when it was not the norm! She had Alzheimers the last twelve years of her life. I was her caregiver for ten of them! Our roles reversed; she regressed to childhood and didn’t even know my name! I also worked a full time job before she got too far into the illness! I don’t think that Luann sounds like a teenager. I wish I could still ask my Mom those questions!
