Unfortunately for Rat, the claim that his ‘disability prevents him from working with people’ really dooms his cause: he could just work away from people. There must be jobs that would place him in the middle of nowhere with no contact with the outside world…that would prevent any contact with idiots.

Thanks for pointing that out, wouldn’t have noticed it otherwise. On a different note, is it just me, or does ‘Hobbes’ look much more accurate than most of Pastis’ imitations? Almost like he traced one of Waterson’s.

He does? In one of the treasuries he says that is the surest way to mess up your comic strip.

You’d think the neighbors would have learned to fear Snuffles by now

My favorite part about this is that the crocs did this intentionally. Who would have thought they would be smart enough to remember a failed scheme and reuse it to their advantage?

Agreed, except the part about it being the least funny. There’s Doonesbury, Cathy, and plenty of others that are worthy contenders for that title.

I’m kinda impressed Pastis managed to actually bring Zebra and Larry home, I assumed they would just reappear with everything normal. I guess the secret to a successful comic strip is keeping expectations low

Based on PBS history, Pastis is just as likely to forget that Larry is a crab within in a few days as he is to craft an improbably explanation

You can see someone’s mouth move and know they are talking without hearing them. Rat didn’t say anything that implies knowledge of what the man said.On another note, Rat said “sorry”! How many times does he do that? He almost sounds polite, for him.

What’s the difference between someone holding a ball in both hands right before a big leap and a big bounce?
