    So sorry about your Dixie. We had to put our Schipperke, Elsea, to sleep in late Aug. ’13. It took months, but it did get a little better. We rescued 2 schipperkes in Dec and Jan (one is a senior). I still miss Elsea, but these two rescues have helped more than I thought possible.

    Your reply to Nabu is hysterical and so true. Thanks for the laugh and showing a great way to deal with a troll.

    In August we lost our beloved 12 year old Schipperke and we were devastated. In December we rescued a 4 year old Schipperke and he is doing well. Just this weekend we were moved to do an urgent rescue of a 12 year old Schipperke. Had some trepidation about a 12 year old, but it’s nice to read your comment and know we probably will have at least a few years to share with and spoil her. She is a delight and is settling in nicely. Good luck much love with your Penny.

    So sorry about your Chipper. We lost our black schipperke Elsea in August and still miss her terribly. Losing a beloved friend so close to the holidays is especially difficult. Sorry for the loss of all our special friends.

    @StelBel
    Hope you have a happy bday. Even though I rarely comment, I will not forget the kind words you had when my beloved dog passed in August. Hope you have a wonderful day and thank you for all the wonderful pictures and kind words you share.

    Thanks for this strip. Glad you’re here.

    @Dry: You were so kind when my dog passed. I can’t understand why your posts are not being accepted. I hope you are back soon.

    I always found it impossible to resist all that joy just because I walked in the door. My little joy-maker, Elsea the schipperke passed away just over 3 weeks ago at the age of 12 and I miss her more than I ever thought possible. My advice would be to enjoy it and her cherish every moment. Dogs = unconditional love.

    Great song!! Loved the FYC. Was living at NAS Meridian, MS when that song came out. Funny how you remember chapters of life based on music. Didn’t love Meridian, but loved that time of my life – mid 20’s. Thanks!!
