    “a useless crop of items”

“You have evidently never tried pumpkin soup.”
Or pumpkin pie! Or pumpkin bread!
When I was a kid, we would scoop out as much of the flesh as we could when we carved up our pumpkins and cook and eat it.
We would also roast the seeds for eating. One time, I made pumpkin bread using the seeds from our Halloween pumpkin instead of walnuts. Yummy!

I would say that man in the picture you posted is handsome indeed.
…but then, I have never found “shallow” attractive.

I am willing to bet that he and his wife both are having fun with these comics. I seriously don’t see any of them as swipes at his wife, but rather as being aimed at himself.
I don’t know if you have been reading this comic for long, but when the comic Pastis and his comic wife first separated, he moved in with Rat and Pig… and THEY kicked him out (which is why he is now living in a basket on his wife’s porch).
The way I see it, is that if Rat and Pig could not bear living with him, then his wife must have an even better reason for treating him this way.
…and, as others have said, the real Pastis is not divorced.

“I love eating raisins right out of the package, but once they are cooked, YUCK. I guess I miss out on a lot of cinnamon bread and oatmeal cookies, but I don’t mind.”
I agree. I love plain raisins out of the package… or even covered with chocolate.
Just can’t stand them added to anything that has been cooked!

…and “eat something marginally toxic” covers one of those two things.

The fact that Les recognizes that Dilbert did it on purpose the last time shows that he does realize that he is being too sensitive.

A “train station” is where a train stops.
A “bus station” is where a bus stops.
At my desk, I have a “work station.”
