    Sorry, no “Lynn’s Notes” today.

    Good morning, Vagabonds.

Today is a busy day for me. I do enjoy getting out and about for a change, though.

Temp was up around 90 again yesterday, and will be today too. We’ll get a cold front coming through by tomorrow, and the temps will hover around 75 for the rest of the week. I love spring in the desert. In the last 3 days, we have set 5 temperature records. 3 record highs and 2 record high lows (the third high low tied an old record).

Rex Morgan Michelle’s hair doesn’t seem to be as orange as when we first met her a while back.
Judge Parker Continuing my theme from yesterday, I asked at the RV dealership where I took mine for repairs, and the salesman said that if you want to spend a million dollars or more for an RV, they could create one for you that has two separate bedrooms. Considering Abbey’s money, that’s probably exactly what they did.
There are also two-story Class “A” RV’s available with multiple bedrooms. The top floor collapses down onto the ceiling of the first level when travelling, then cranks up to make a full second story. I have even seen them with a deck on top for outdoor parties.
BTW, Class “A” is the one that looks like a bus. “B” is a van conversion, and “C” is the kind with a bunk over the cab.

    Lynn’s Notes:

There was a song: “June is busting out all over” and I think it came from a big Broadway musical. Someone out there will tell me! Anyway — a neighbour of ours (whose name was June) had told my mom, in secret, that she was expecting. Mom was asked to keep it quiet until June knew for sure. In a weak moment, mom told my dad — who was always thinking of puns, gags and ways to crack people up. When dad came upon my mom and her friend talking over the fence, he started to sing “June is busting out all over” and the look on the ladies’ faces was a cartoon waiting to be drawn. Both had their mouths open in that tense little “O” of surprise. Dad was in the doghouse until June was sure of her condition. All was forgiven and baby Alex busted out — red and healthy six months later.

    The musical was “Carousel”.

    Good morning, Vagabonds.

Not much happening today. I’m taking the RV over to the repair shop this morning. She’s got a few minor glitches that I want to get fixed before they become major ones.

It’s been over 90 for a couple of days now, but shouldn’t get quite so high today. I’ll settle for 85.

Judge Parker I am very intrigued by this RV that has a separate cubicle/bedroom for Sophie and a “main lounge”. We haven’t seen the outside, so we don’t know if there are slide-outs, but without them there is no way that there could be that much room inside and still be street legal. I own a 32 foot Class “A” RV and have been at RV shows where I have gone through even bigger ones. I also just looked up “2 bedroom RV floor plans”. I have NEVER seen one that has more than one bedroom all on one level in a Class “A” as this one has been portrayed. There are some huge and beautiful coaches with two separate bedrooms, but they are all trailers or 5th wheels. There is no place for a second bedroom when you need to have a driver’s seat and an engine at one end. Sam & Abby would have the bedroom, and Sophie would be sleeping either on the convertible dinette or the pull out sofa bed. In either case, Sam & Abby are sitting in her bedroom right now.

Speaking as a woman, men who do this kind of thing usually belong in the “Pluggers” strip. It is true that men used to be better drivers than women but only because the men drove everywhere while the “little woman” stayed home with the kids. Growing up, I knew women who didn’t drive. Not anymore. That kind of thing ended in the 60’s, but the stereotype continued (mostly as a joke). Today, it is only the men who were raised in the same era I was or earlier that use this kind of “excuse” for their own bad driving.

Lynn’s notes come from her website. Click on the link to the right, then click on the tab “strip fix”. Choose “Today’s strip” from the drop-down menu and you will see her “notes” (if any) underneath the daily comic. Highlight and copy the text, then “paste as plain text” in the comment here. Most of us post them using an “*” immediately before and after the text and a “paragraph” command between the header and the text.
Night-Gaunt49’s example is actually yesterday’s note, talking about the “Let them eat cake” quote.
