It’s not. Near the end of the comic’s run Cutter finally meets up with the guy who took his eye. Cutter’s monologue at that time makes it quite clear that Cutter only has the one eye.

Every few weeks or so Gocomics hangs on the Monday strip and doesn’t update for anywhere from 1-4 days, then posts all the comics it missed at once.

The last two times this happened I contacted Straub, but it still happens so I don’t know what to tell you.

There’s a missing strip that takes place after Vanderbeam’s heroic rescue of Jovia that gives a little more context to today’s comic.

That was a one-in-a-million act of heroism.

I’m sorry, Vanderbeam. I’m so sorry.

I love obliquely referencing stuff that’s going to happen, but there’s no way to be subtle enough for this particular strip.

    MILD SPOILERS

Bad stuff is gonna go down that affects the entire rest of the strip’s run, and this particular strip foreshadows a very important plot point.

I think he was referring to XXXYYY, or whatever her name is.

Vore shows up later, but it’ll be a few story arcs before we see him again.

    Let’s see, what’s coming up next…

A swanky party, a flashback to simpler times, and then…
    Oh. Oh, dear.

Poor Vanderbeam. He never really gets over that, does he?
