Now what would Teena know about Elvis?
(I’m about ready to tell these political correctness freaks where to shove it.)

This is so bogus. You can hum anything you want as long as it doesn’t disrupt the class. It’s the same old “they’re ruining the schools with PC” meme. Kids can pray whenever they want in school – there are even prayer groups because they’re student run groups. These things just can’t be school run. Geez – get over it.

Problem is, the ACLU will decide what “disrupt” is. Don’t know if you’ve heard, but the prayer groups are being forced to move off campus and accept atheists – just to be “fair and inclusive”.

Thing is, most prayer groups are OK with including atheists because they wanna convert them, which is the real, underlying motive for most public prayer. You aren’t praying to your god, you are advertising he/she/it.

The Politically Correct movement is neutering everything in public schools – not just religion. Religion (actually, just Christianity) is the major and most easily-seen target, but any display of what makes a person or a group different is being eliminated. Oh, and the comment about to whom people are praying? Please don’t try to understand that it truly is God (capital “G”) to whom I pray. You clearly don’t / can’t / won’t understand. That’s OK. But also don’t dare minimize or cheapen it with your interpretation. If you don’t understand it, either ask or keep quiet. Your interpretation indicates that I am praying to you – the unbeliever. Never going to happen. Ever.

To Allison Barrows: Thank you for trying to represent what is actually happening in our schools and our society in a humorous way. It’s that pink elephant in the room that people don’t want to acknowledge. This is a good and balanced way to encourage discussion.

Jingle Bells was written for Thanksgiving. It never mentions Christmas, Jesus, Santa.

The House of the Rising Sun (The Animals) and O Little Town of Bethlehem can be interchanged.

Now if the schools weren’t funded by taxes as in private they could do what they want an the ACLU wouldn’t care. It is only because there are those that demand their religion (Christianity only) be represented in those schools. It is part of a power play to give us a back door Biblically based country. Which it never was not that they don’t try to make it seem like it was such as David Barton.

About 30 years ago, Senator Don Nickles (R-OK) was asked if he would be in favor of a law that made it mandatory for every child in America to begin each school day with a prayer praising Jesus Christ. He said absolutely, because that was the ultimate goal of the school prayer movement. While I admire his honesty, it does show how little right-wingers actually care about freedom of religion.
