He’s looking for more tar. He’s decided that de-tarring Bichon Frises is a very lucrative market … if he can find (or cause …) enough tarred Bichon Frises.

… and is it “Bichon Frises” or “Bichons Frises” ?

Really? I thought that that last panel was more a reflection of feeling like he struck oil or gold, since he wished for a challenge and in walks five bichon frises covered in very sticky tar.

It wouldn’t be so bad but it’s the fifth time this month he’s had to sort them out.

Sir if you insist on creating a horrible disaster then your gonna have not only de-tar the dogs but the cats the fish and any other innocent animal you’ve tarred including that turtle, racoon, and squirrel.

The plural (or quintet in this case) is Bichons Frisés; it’s pronounced the same as the singular, Bichon Frisé.

Well, really, its still not much of a challenge. Best thing to do is shave the poor buggers.

All due respect, Paul, I’m guessing you’ve never been to a groomer much less been one. I’ve known more who have had nervous breakdowns than have died of boredom. The drama of multiple spoiled / scared / nervous / excited / savage canines, shoved together in a strange environment with strange people, etc., etc., is many things. Boring is not one of them!

So we’re definitely going with the full French …

Just asking … I have Labradors so plural is not a challenge.
