Most Dogs are on a see-food diet, they see the food and want to eat it ! Even if they just ate !

A dog who knows Orwell? And how is it that only one of those many cats has food in a bowl? Where are the other cats and their dishes?

Most cats will either eat together or wait their turn because the first cat(s) to eat will leave the dish when they are full. Which reminds me, I need to feed the cats.

It can depend a lot on individual cats’ personalities. I had a cat who would eat what she needed and stop. I was usually able to just leave food in her dish at all times. Then we adopted a cat who would eat as long as there was food in the dish. He didn’t stop when he got full. We had to start feeding a certain amount at certain times of the day and the first cat had to learn not to graze during the day. That took less time than I’d thought it would.

Once had a German shepherd with a huge food bowl. The kitten would stand inside the bowl and nibble. No matter how hungry, the shepherd would wait ’til she finished and walked out of the bowl. Then he would resume eating.

When the kitten became an adult, she would knock food off the counter tops to the floor, where the dog would gobble it up. Good deeds pay off, eh?

Why should something on the net remind you to feed the cats, they will remind you, themselves.

No kidding, when our 18lb Maine Coon mix gets hungry he comes over and starts taking small chomps out of my arm.
The threat is clear, feed me or I feed myself.

They are outside. They would remind me when I went out the door.

If I dropped a 50-lb. bag of Iams on the floor, my 2 Labradors would eat it all.
