I’d say darks. BUT… if it’s a white shirt that has plaid, with whites.

Not a problem these days; cold water and just toss everything in.

All whites, pale pale colors, underwear go in a separate load, no matter how small. That is the ideal, though in a rush to get er done, might not always happen.

    Whites alone. Everything else together.

Unless you are a used car salesman, avoid stripes with plaids…

If an article might run in the wash, put a handkerchief in the dark wash then add the suspect colour. If the handkerchief changes colour, don’t put the offending article in with light stuff again.
Personally, I find most colours are fine, but be suspicious of red.

Easier to buy your clothing in one or two colours. Same goes for the fabric. Including underclothing. This way, no sorting needed.

He’s not going home to meet up with his friends during a weekend and have his mom wash them? He must be a student from out of state.

The colorist couldn’t do plaid, I see. These shirts are in checks, not plaid.
