I’m so sad! Wish you would stick around Patrick! But I know, this doesn’t pay the bills.

Not sure why, but several of the comments complimenting Patrick and his humor and talent were eliminated from yesterday…..I know this cause one of the erased comments was mine. Patrick you are a talented funny guy.

I hope your future is as bright as the gentle humor and the artwork were in this strip Patrick. I adored it. I think of this strip whenever I see a penquin now. I am going to miss it.
Be well, or as the Klingons say, Live Long and Prosper.

I wonder how gocomics works? The last time I asked this question I got a rude “where have you been?” response. Like I should know. I’m not a cartoonist so how would I know?
I just know how to chose the comics I want to read, whether or not to go pro, and go back later in the week to read the comics that were grayed out, but are okay now.
I’m not privy to the workings of gocomics or how they get cartoonists to contribute to them and who pays who. I would have to be a psychic to know that. Since I’m not, I don’t. So to the ones who would say I should, tough.
Just because I visit a website, doesn’t mean I know everything about them.
Yeah, I’m a little teed off and I apologize, but when someone asks a question, a nice, even halfway answer, would have been better than the one I got in the second sentence.

Sherpa is like the bullpen for the Main GoComics site. When the Editors deem your strip worthy, then they offer you a contract. On the main site, you probably share the ad revenue that the whole site generates from people viewing. What you get paid will be determined by your popularity. So, that means, you’re going up against Calvin and Hobbes and the other big boys. What you get is what’s left over. I’ve heard from some that you pretty much get a nickel (i’m exaggerating of course, but some have said I was right on). However, your advantage is that they can plug your book if you have one, and you can plug that you are represented by Universal Uclick, etc. Honestly, I make more money on Patreon and the papers that I’m in. In the end, you’re a small fish in a big ocean (no longer a pond—that’s sherpa). If you can live with that, and you have the passion, then you’ll have fun. But online syndication is not very lucrative. Your objective is to get as popular as you can with exposure and sell merchandise. That’s how it’s worked out for me. Let me know if you have any more questions. I’ll be happy to answer them. Mind, you my answers are based on my experiences and what some GoComics pros have told me. So treat it as a grain of salt.

This has already been taken off sherpa list. I’ve written the name down and I WILL go back and read every single strip.

Good luck going back. You can only find it here. I googled and I found it but not at gocomics. Even all the ones in my collection are GONE!

I went to google. Clicked on the plenty of penguin name and it took me to gocomics. It seems like it’s a different section. I’m reading all the old strips. It’s what I’m on, now.
