Meet Beany Butter, one-time ace advertising copywriter, now long-term unemployed and hanging onto her decrepit San Diego beach house for dear life. She rents out her grown son’s room to Carla, another divorced woman over 50, but one desperately seeking her next Mr. Almost Right. Carla’s middle-aged man hunt takes the women from websites to roller rinks.
Just as the gals are getting their mojos back, Beany’s long-lost slacker son Dylan returns. He’s homeless, broke and good at only one thing -- manipulating his guilty mother. Beany parks him in the wood-paneled garage explaining to Carla, “I can’t throw him out now that he’s finding himself.” Carla says, “Girl, if he hasn’t found himself by now, he ain’t lookin’.”
