At its heart, Pearls Before Swine is the comic strip tale of two friends: an arrogant Rat who thinks he knows it all and a slow-witted Pig who doesn't know any better. Together, this pair offers caustic commentary on humanity's quest for the unattainable. Dilbert cartoonist Scott Adams says that Pearls is "one of the few comics that make me laugh out loud." The strip has twice won the National Cartoonists Society's Reuben division award for Best Newspaper Comic Strip – in 2003 and in 2006.

We got rid of our television 17 years ago. Best thing we ever did.

Well, some people aren’t all that verbal. My Dad expressed himself far better when he wasn’t trying to say anything than when he was.

I feel so sorry for poor Andy here.
I KNOW it’s only a comic strip…
But still… It can happen.

@SwimsWithSharks
That seems fitting given the evident affection Andy’s dad has for him.
Yeah, I got your drift, and your pun too. Snow….drift. You’re a sly one there Shark.

Andy, I may not be your dad, but I’d love you, cuddle you and pet you. I feed my animals premium pet foods and care very well for them. You wouldn’t be chained up in my back yard. And you wouldn’t be a pet, you’d be a family member. Slightly furrier than my children but still a member of the family. Not a pet that I own but a dog that I would be a guardian of.
Now if you talked to me like you do in the strip, I’d probably freak out, so you might want to keep that on the DL.

My dad was kind of like that, but not THAT bad. That’s why I made a promise to myself when my kids were born, that they will never have to ask themselves if their dad loved them. They will have always known it.

@Andy
Maybe if you’d just watch the game with your dad, you’d bond quicker. Join him in what he likes to do.
