    My mom once made a joke when she was changing my little brother’s diaper and he peed straight up in the air, “Oh look, a baby shower” and to this day I still laugh whenever someone mentions baby shower. R.I.P. Mom

    I was an adult when I found out what baby and bridal showers really were. I must have been mixing with the wrong company.
    Also, I think it is more a modern USA custom.
