    As Roz Chast says, “Sue, sue, sue.” “If you don’t sue, I will.” “It’s an open and shut case.”

    Charlie Brown doesn’t see the bright side of things very often but when he does, it’s during the oddest situations.

    I wonder if he’ll get get-well cards? Probably not.
    When I was a kid I was a bit of a Charlie Brown—glasses, clumsy, egghead, girl—but at age 10 I was hospitalised with a burst appendix. Everyone in the class sent cards. I was amazed. I don’t care if it was a class assignment, it was nice.

    I love the smile on CB’s face in the 4th panel.

    And today’s lesson is: Happiness (until you get your puppy) lies in the ability to find the silver lining.

    But he’ll still get the failing grade, and the injury will be a swan-song as safety patrol.

    It doesn’t take much to make Charlie Brown happy, does it? All you have to do is run him down…

    @orinoco womble

    I was hit by a car on the 6th grade. My teacher managed to get the whole class in to visit me in the hospital- except for one: the kid who hated everybody anyway. I didn’t miss him a bit. The rest came in half at a time (the hospital’s request.) They brought lots of gifts- including a couple of PEANUTS books. It was well known that I was a fan.

    Ok. That’s what happened. And the person didn’t even stop to apologize and see if he was okay. That’s called a “hit and run”. His parents should sue.
