    Linus is referring to Galatians 6:11 (KJV) “Ye see how large a letter I have written unto you with mine own hand.” (Had to go to lds.org/scriptures to find it.)

    @TEMPLO S.U.D.

    What Paul is referring to are not the actual size of the individual alphabetical characters in his letter, but the over all length of the letters (referred to as Epistles) in the bible that he wrote to all of the churches he helped to start. However, the cartoon IS still very charming!!

    I was taught that Paul was referring to the size of the letters, and that tradition says he had bad eye sight. The thinking is that most of the letter was transcribed by a secretary, but Paul added the farewell in his own hand as proven by the large script. There is another passage in the Bible were he refers to some hardship he has to endure, “a thorn in my side” which some claim also refers to his bad vision.

    Yeah he did…he’s saying, “If it’s OK for Paul, it’s OK for you.” He just wants CB to feel better.
    I’d rather read big scrawly print than tiny illegible cursive any day.

    Linus is a good friend. (side note: my left-handed 10-year-old daughter’s cursive is clearer than her printing!)

    Well, either way, it shows the inestimable value of an understanding friend!

    I always thought Paul was referring to the length of the letter, not the size of the actual letters, but the latter does make sense. There is a place where he says they would’ve given him their own eyes, which has led to people through the years believing he may have had bad eyesight. I think that’s very possible since they didn’t have glasses back in his day. If I didn’t have glasses I couldn’t read at all which would be torture to me.
