    One never really does forget one’s first love — that’s why the first love is always special, even though one’s true love may come along later.

    Eventually you do start to forget and that’s when you won’t want to.

    My first love, from over 40 years ago, found me on the internet. We texted, emailed and phoned, everything seemed revitalised. We met. We simply weren’t the same people, there was nothing there anymore.

    This is why I can’t forget Susan……even after being married to someone else for 35 years. Such is life!

    Since the subject was brought up: three weeks ago I learned that the first gal I had romantically kissed had passed away. She never made it to age 40. Though that affair was decades ago, the discovery of her death was a shock.
    (Funny that I’d reveal personal info on a board with strangers. But I try to be careful about what personal info I reveal.)

    We’ve seen so many Hallmark cards and Met Life ads. You can almost forget that nobody does poignant like Schulz did.

    @skeeterhawk

    Sometimes it is easier to share our true feelings with strangers who will not use our personal outbursts against us than it is with someone who knows us. We do not want to give friends thast power over us. Sad the lessons we have learned. And yet, be assured that many ofus who do not know you silently grieve with you because we do care for you even if we never have nor ever will meet you. This is the wonderful gift of being human.

    A version was around back then, different from what you use today. No WWW. We had email, and could buy airline tickets, etc.
