If ever there is an iconic comic strip, it is Peanuts. What began in the funny pages in 1950 has developed into an enduring classic. Whether you're persnickety like Lucy, a philosopher like Linus, a joyous Flying Ace like Snoopy, or a lovable underdog like Charlie Brown, there is something to touch your heart or make you laugh in Peanuts.

The most useful word in the English language is “NO”.

I wonder why Charles Schulz so radically redesigned Snoopy’s bird friends in the late 60s. They went from these blue guys, to Woodstock and his yellow breed for the last thirty years.

Probably because Woodstock and his ilk were cuter and had more personality. Maybe someone in his entourage liked them better.

Snoopy, people and creatures always find the softest hearts. It’s an instinct, and that’s why I keep my gruff exterior for protection. Your’s would be a low, threatening growl.

You should have laid down the ground rules from the beginning, Snoopy. I’ll bet they;re not even paying rent.

Only the design of Snoopy’s feathered friends changed. The strip was never in color. This is a feature of GO Comics, or, whoever has decided to colorize the strips for online distribution.

With the exception of the Sunday strip, of course. I meant the dailies were never in color. I just don’t recall the Sunday birds being blue…someone will probably update or correct me

I like how Snoopy uses the word, “people”. When the cats here are too eager for food, I tell them, “You people need to wait.”

Snoopy IS a person. One of the finest I know.

But not always one of the most sensible. With all that downstairs (Van Gogh painting, pool table, who knows what all), why couldn’t he let the roof out to the tenants and live inside his doghouse?
Oh yes, that’s right: “Only When It’s Funny”. :))

Snoopy should have offered to egg sit instead of offering to exit.
