Schroeder, in his catcher's gear, walks up to Charlie Brown, who is standing atop the pitcher's mound, and says,"Let's go over our signals again, Charlie Brown." Schroeder says,"We'll keep 'em simple..."

He puts up a finger and says,"One finger will mean a fast ball, two fingers will mean a curve, three will mean a drop..." He continues,"Four fingers is a knuckleball, five is a slider and six is a fork-ball."

He continues,"Seven fingers will mean an upshoot, eight fingers a duster, nine fingers a knuckle curve, ten fingers a palm ball..."

He continues,"Eleven fingers will mean a pitch-out, twelve a roundhouse-curve, thirteen a change-up and fourteen your fast side-armer..."

He continues,"Fifteen fingers will mean a sinker, sixteen fingers a screwball, and seventeen fingers an overhead curve."

He asks,"Okay?" Charlie Brown replies,"Okay!" Schroeder walks away. He stops and turns back saying,"On second thought, I have a better idea..."

He walks off concluding,"Throw anything you want!"

Schroeder’s piano talent comes from his unique trait of having seventeen fingers.
