The Literary Ace sits on the doghouse and types. Peppermint Patty stands with Marcie and says, "Snoopy's typing my term paper for me . . ."

Marcie says, "Do you really think that will get you a better grade, sir? After all, it's what you say that counts . . ."

Peppermint Patty replies, "Neatness is what counts, Marcie! Teachers always freak out over neatness! You don't understand teachers, Marcie."

Marcie says, "You can say that again, sir!" Peppermint Patty says, "Stop calling me 'Sir'!" Snoopy thinks, "How can I type with all this talking going on?"

Seems Patty already knew, or was convinced enough, that what she had (originally)said, would be good enough so she would get a passing grade. Don’t forget, Snoopy had changed what she had said just a “smidgen,” thus blowing her chance.
