No, it is designed to distract the public from the do nothing Congress and smear the president.. Benghazi is history and a sunk cost. I would appreciate it if all those millionaire Congressmen would actually work on something that is good for the country.

“No, it is designed … to smear the president.”

I don’t see it that way, Ted. I see it as the State Department’s gross ineptitude in dealing with facility security going back to at least Beirut, Lebanon. State nixed allowing the Marines to reinforce their position, leaving them vulnerable to the attack they received while sitting in the middle of a civil war. 241 servicemen died in that debacle. State needs to be held accountable for that decision and any of the poor decisions concerning security they have made since then.

2000 to 2008 thirteen American embassies attacked, 60 people killed and very little said. No big deal, a Republican president was in the WH.

gyp….those were not blamed on a stupid video….and they were not covered up…and if people wanted to talk to survivors, the survivors had not been transferred to the boondocks…get real.

Repeating the same mistake over and over and expecting a different result isn’t just insanity, it’s Republican. Hmmm, CNN focused on a non-story involving a missing airliner, and Faux stayed on a non-story that didn’t have any problem searching for missing facts.

It is quite likely that immediately after those thirteen embassy attacks, the exact motivation and perpetrators were not know for sure. But is likely that there were speculations, and quite possibly those speculations may have been initially correct or possibly they were incorrect. And as information was processed and facts confirmed, it is quite possible the initial speculation was either modified or confirmed. Such is the fog of war and terrorism. Just like at Benghazi. But there were not years of witch hunts and inquiries on top of inquiries by politically motivated politicians.

mikefive, you are one of the honest posters here, but I have to disagree with you. (I agree with you that State needs to be held accountable, and I think a couple people were actually fired and others reassigned, so that’s some accountability.
    -
But these hearings are designed to smear Obama and for no other goals.
    -
Remember that these are the same people that not only demanded NO accountability for the Saddam nucular weapons, but also approved medals for Tenet, Wolfowitz, Bolton, et al.

In the WH – doing the nation’s business, preparing for tomorrow, interacting with the family, eating dinner, going to the bathroom. What’s your point?

To Paul Szep and ALL the other political cartoonists.

Today, May 6, I just read in the Boston Globe an article that reports that during the month of March, not one US soldier was killed in combat in any of our areas of occupation. BUT, over 700 combat veterans took their own lives here in the US.
This, while veteran benefits continue to be scaled back, while god-knows-how many-corporations are making huge profits from their overseas operations, and big oil having their property protected by these soldiers.

Instead on continuing focus on Benghazi, Obamacare and Sterling, how about drawing some ’toons drawing attention to the profiteers and our veterans, who volunteered to defend our country?
