"I think cartoonists should be like burrs under the saddle of some egomaniac, kind of gnawing away every day," says two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Paul Szep. "I think the public likes cartoons because it gives them a vicarious pleasure that they normally can't get in any other way."

Paula Broadwell – author of his biography “All In”. Okay kids quit the giggling.
.
Since when does having a little fluff on the side a reason to resign. Eisenhower would have had to resign before D-Day. Churchill and FDR would have been history. There’s more to the story.

Serving a puritanical nation is a problem. That a “four star” retired, and head of the top secrecy agency in the nation did something he knew should have been stupid, (perhaps compromising security) was, well, a little stupid.

Sometimes I wonder if some of these military rules about sexual contact aren’t a little archaic. I’ve never been on the field of battle, but unless the dynamics between men and women have changed, you throw men and women together where there may be a shortage of recreational activities, where the booze runs freely, and where tomorrow you may be dead, and stuff is going to happen. Similarly, you have a cute “biographer” with stars in her eyes following a four star general around, and perhaps even people of strong character get a little lonely on the private jet on long flights with booze to consume and time to kill. I would guess “comfort women” in the military with most nations is more the norm than the exception. Of course if Broadwell was a spy, that would be different. Or if the General was more concerned about getting laid than protecting staff in Benghazi, that would also not be good.

The issue of consequence is he might have allowed access to his computer with classified information to someone who shouldn’t have had access. The fact he failed to keep his zipper up, isn’t very important, except to “blue noses”. Maybe he just spent too much time in the rest of the world where, “boys will be boys” (and so will the girls) isn’t all that big a deal?

I liked clinton. It was dishonorable for the republicans to pursue impeachmen even though they knew it would fail. It cost a ton of money and distracted the country from more important things. But the republicans were trying to even up the score with “I am not a crook” nixon. Nixon resigned because he knew they had the votes to impeach him. Clinton, rightly staying in office, doing the job we elected him to do, unlike palin, the quitter.

So your OK with sexually harassing women…. why did the Dems pursue Nixon after all he stopped the war and opened China and it was worth making us look weak to the rest of the world… setting the stage for the oil embargo and the fall of S Vietnam….
