"I think cartoonists should be like burrs under the saddle of some egomaniac, kind of gnawing away every day," says two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Paul Szep. "I think the public likes cartoons because it gives them a vicarious pleasure that they normally can't get in any other way."

Half the country thinks so.

Two billion dollars. One for each candidate. That’s only what they spent on ads. That money would have been much better spent in too many ways.
it is very sad.

I think this only reinforces my belief that private money has no business being in elections. One person, one vote; public funding for all political activities. If you want your message spread, post on your blog or write a letter to an editor.

Why does it matter whether the money could have been spent better? It wasn’t your money. It wasn’t public money. Surely you people don’t believe you have the right to vote how other people spend their money? You do understand what “their” means, don’t you? Or will we see a vote on that, too?

“Yes and 85% of Obama ads were negative and 80% of Romney’s ads were negative.”
Would you please reveal the source of these numbers !

Conversely, Romney was the worst president you could buy for a billion.

Obama did not create the system. It was the Yahoos on the supreme idiots court that did this to our democracy, much like when they handed the great nincompoop the election in 2000 that got us into this mess in the first place.

Backers can’t get a refund for Romney since they did not keep the receipt.

Does it really matter that it was a billion $ I mean unless you gave it than it doesn’t matter.

And considerably less was spent than by the right-wing billionaires, and with much better results.

“Yes and 85% of Obama ads were negative and 80% of Romney’s ads were negative. Seems the negativeness won out in this election, err re-election.” Oh, please. Another statistic pulled out of your nether regions. Where were Romney’s positive ads showing his plans?

@Howgozit
Your numbers may not be accurate.
I couldn’t find the numbers I was looking for, but these should suffice.
