"I think cartoonists should be like burrs under the saddle of some egomaniac, kind of gnawing away every day," says two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Paul Szep. "I think the public likes cartoons because it gives them a vicarious pleasure that they normally can't get in any other way."

The New Deal had great PR, eventhough it was a socialist’s dream. Obamism has large sections of even this media saying, “Eh, who are we kidding? We can’t keep defending this train wreck.”

You left out Lincoln. And I don’t remember his comparing himself to Carter. Ouch!
I think hats are due for a comeback, BTW. Think about it… Obama could create a hat bubble.

If only President Obama could get the co-operation of Congress that Franklin Roosevelt got, and if only Obama was willing to install similarly progressive programs as those of Roosevelt.
At least, Obama has worked to help the U.S.A. out of the Great Republican Recession. Republicans in Congress have hindered any progress & any recovery while denying that they caused the recession—laughable & sad.

On the “filling apparel” mode, I don’t see any of the Teapublicans filling even the toe of T.R.s boots, or Ike’s, even Ron (Reagan that is) would be considered a “left” boot to them.
