    Bourguignon rare? I don’t think so. Fricassee of chickenhawk would make a good menu item though.

    Decades ago I saw a movie about, I think, the Crusades. I was a kid at the time, and its title is gone and the details are hazy, but one scene from it has stuck with me ever since. The enemy warlord was invited into the hero’s giant tent for truce talks under a white flag but was leery of being poisoned, so when he was offered food he drew himself up and stentorized “Bring forth an ox, and slauter it in my presence.” I’ve been waiting my entire life to use that line.

    PS: Becoming a vegetarian has probably prolonged the wait.

    Not Oliphant’s best.

    It’s an interesting thought, but I can’t help but suspect drone hijacking will become common. Maybe the Amazon drones will be armed with Hellfires. Hope he likes his steak well done…

    @Uncle Joe

    Maybe not his best, since he’s had some GREAT ones, but I liked it. At least it’s not yet another Santa and/or all his reindeer replaced by drones.

    (And I like the idea of serving the meat really rare, as in the cartoon.)

    Pat has clearly left the world of sensible cartoons. Farwell!

    A drone can carry about five pounds. This leads to all kinds of absolutely fascinating conclusions I won’t bore you with, but I expect that you could carry eight pounds or so if you had two drones and a bit of creeper.

    Drones come in many sizes, a friend recently finished a six motor drone with a 6 kg payload.
    This replaced his 3 kg drone he used last year.
    Easy and relatively cheap to build (or purchase new) , the technology has arrived and is usable.

    Hey, Oliphant’s just having fun, guys! Don’t lose your sense of the absurd or you’ll lose a lot of the enjoyment of life…

    Amazon Fresh uses trucks and leaves the food in a plastic box on your door step.

    All the political cartoonists took their shots at this theme, and Oliphant the legend did it best.

    Wish the drones could deliver quality healthcare for free, or @ viable costs.

    Well, they don’t have to listen to the waiter drone on about the specials…

    Best comment about drones, which was the point about this whole damn thing: I hope the drone with my I-Phone doesn’t run into the drone with my pizza!
    Seriously folks, how the hell would this work without serious liability insurance. And it’s great that they can land this in a large suburban yard. How the hell do they intend to do this in Manhattan?
