    And that’s JUST what George W. Bush did to Saddam Hussein when he kept bragging about his weapons over and over and over and…well, you get the point. SO, what do you do? Wait to see if he’s actually GOT WMD’s or get sick of being poked with a stick and go after HIM first……WITH the Dem’s backing too at the time, if you remember.
    No WMD’s? Well, guess ol’ Saddam shouldn’t have kept threatening then…

    I watched that whole drums of war drama and never heard of any plausible evidence of Saddam Hussein having the capability of weapons of mass destruction other than the ones Dick Cheney sold him (he knew because he had the receipts). Then the UN inspectors said that those were basically all accounted for and put out of commission with over 98% certainty. But Bush/Cheney still trumped up charges about WMD. Shame on the whole Congress for believing the lies of Bush/Cheney. Shame on Cheney for selling the stuff in the first place! Shame on you for still thinking it was a good idea to go smash Iraq. The consequent instability of the whole region is still being felt. All for the oil that the Chinese outbid the Americans for, and the ego pride of a puppet president trying to fix daddy’s “mistake” of not taking out Hussein. (And daddy told him to NOT do it!) D@mned near bankrupted the country with that war and all the treasury fortune spend on “security” that wouldn’t be necessary if American foreign policies weren’t creating enemies in the first place. I never bought Clinton’s BS about they hate us for our “freedom”. They hate us because they keep getting screwed by dirty American policies. I don’t like terrorists any less than others but it’s intelligent to at least listen to what they say they’re peeved about to get a clue what they’re peeved about.

    No one with a grasp of the basic facts would still be trying to justify or excuse the US invasion of Iraq. The UN Inspectors, under the leadership of Hans Blix, were in the process of inspecting various sites in Iraq. The team repeatedly reported that there was no evidence of WMD or labs/factories capable of creating WMD. It was not in Saddam’s interest to allow his enemies, both within and outside Iraq, a full view of just how weakened he was by 2000. Falsely believing that the US would never invade, as he posed no threat, Saddam did not realize that the Bush administration would use cherry-picked bad intel to sell war to the US public. He was wrong. Thousands of Americans died and scores were grievously wounded, physically and mentally, while well over 125,000 Iraqis were killed.
    We as a country are the poorer in numerous ways for the immorality of Cheney and Bush.

    North Korea DOES have weapons of mass destruction, though. And their current dictator IS a rabid little terrier. He can bite, he can be annoying, and we’ll let him. We’ll keep letting him long past any logic, in fact. Sooner or later we’ll be morally obligated to kick him to the curb. (And perhaps some of his military will survive, but I wouldn’t bet on it……..)

    That pesky dog, I would just as soon kick him away before he pollutes the whole world with nuclear death and disease.
    Why would anyone with half a brain want to bomb someone right next to?
    If he nukes S Korea, that would be like Oklahoma bombing Texas..
    The people believe that the royal line" is god-like, to be worshipped. They starve many of their fellow Koreans.

    They goose step with great vigor. I don’t know why many men in power love the goose step. It looks funny.

    Many Democrats drank the KoolAid, no question, but they were sold false intel and were too frightened of public reaction to dig deeper.
    We Democrats are partly responsible for the fiasco that was the War in Iraq, but we were the foolish followers, not the lying leaders of the movement.
    As far as Liberalism being a mental disorder, don’t expect us to take the word of a man clinging to a discredited and failing conservative philosophy when he will say or do anything to support his vapid logic and non-existent principles (just as the Cheney/Bush administration did in 2003).

    I was disappointed in this strip. Cartoons have been known to generate or encourage nationalistic war-drum beating, and dismissing Kim Jung Un in this way is not helpful. As several more knowledgeable NPR commentators have said, North Korea desperately needs commercial connection to the world, and more importantly, food! To encourage this kind of diplomatic bullying on the U.S.’s part seems irresponsible, at least.

    Then the Bush admin drafted the Patriot Act and created the TSC to make government larger and more intrusive so they can take our freedoms away.
    Assuming you meant “TSA” – TRUE!
    I’m just wondering how the statement was attributed to Clinton Maybe an explanation will be forthcoming. We’ll see.
