Hi GoComics readers,
Many of you have expressed curiosity and even concern about the comic hiatus for Pat Oliphant's drawings. We wanted to share that Pat is doing well, in good health, but simply on vacation. As soon as when we have an update on the date of his next drawing, we'll share the news here and via social media.
We have wonderful readers. This is an example of the impact that an artist and their work can have on lives and we will continue to value that relationship with you. Thank you.

“Starting”? When do they ever stop?

I think Mitt can answer that question. ~~

It’s more strange that there are only as many verbal goofs as there are.

1970s letter to the editor in Canada: " If Britain can hold an election in four weeks, why do we take six?" So they shortened it a month. So why does the US take forever?

I’m waiting for O to stop campaigning and start leading. I think I’ll be waiting for 4 more years.

Sweet Ima, if that happens, then you’ll really have a freakout and end up the mayor of Trollville. As it is, if his recent inaugural is any indication (and we’ve still got “Hope”), Obama may just in fact start doing some serious leading. More power to him! Lookout Thugs!

In Britain and Canada, they have elections when the government then in power decides to call them. Needless to say, that usually only happens when they think they’re going to win. It’s a prescription for inertia.
In the US, it’s the calendar that governs, so we can literally tell when every election’s going to be for the next century, and the party in power can’t dodge one just because its popularity ratings happen to be down.

We are all waiting, breathlessly, for one of Mitt’s sons to throw his hat into the fray!

Don’t worry, Ima, after Lord Ears declares himself President for Life in 2016, with the full support of TAKER NATION, we won’t have to vote ever again.

The TAKER NATION? You mean defense contractors, corporate farmers, and Rick Scott’s HCA?

Our President has been leading for four years, or do you wish for him to lead people around by their nose, or their ears, as has been the practice.

I like the dog’s response!
.
I’ve liked Joe in the past and I’ve disliked him when he was running against my candidate. He’s been an “I’m runnin!” guy (like Bob Dole or John McCain).
.
I like Joe fine now, but I hope he doesn’t run! The numbers are against the VEEP of a popular President getting the job. And two terms of it!
.
I don’t think Hilary will run. Her time passed. Our taste for “Historical firsts” is behind us. Baby Boomers have aged out. We’ll be looking for someone born in the ’70s, ’65 earliest.
.
Viet Nam (Viet what?) Viet Nam is as vague a collective memory today as the Depression was to children of 1972. It was something that grandpa brought up when he gave you a nickle to buy 10 cents worth of candy! Then he gave you the other nickle… thanks, grandpa!
.
The economy will have revived by 2016 and there will be lots of Dems looking to take the reigns. There will be plenty of “Me too” Republicans who will be trying hard to shake the legacy of the neocon era. The Dems will have two 8 year holds at the White House for having gotten us through the mindfield laid by the NeoCon “Starve The Beast” policy as people realize that we are in the same boat!

I like Joe. Joe is cool.
(Excellent article in this week’s Newsweek on his unknown talents.)

I agree about Hillary, but I think the First Female President is still gonna be a big deal. I’m putting my money on Kamala Harris (currently California AG), but not in 2016. She’s only 48 at the moment, though, so she’s got time. Look for her to start making a national name for herself.

You forgot the google dorks and Dr. Dre’s rubbish, two more examples of obamabots with mega-dollars hidden offshore or in foreign tax shelters.
