    Bidding against himself?

    Saw a Hammy today at the doc’s office. It ran across a roof (one floor below) and disappeared over the side.

    Quick Verne, explain the concept to Hammy, you don’t want to allow that transfer of wealth.

    The funny thing is Hammy will loose the bid anyway.

    It seems every time I want to bid on something on ebay, there’s always bids coming from bidders with zero transactions. I believe it’s called ‘shill bidding’. It’s against the rules, but ebay can’t really stop it.

    re: Black4dder
    Zero transactions……the first time you bid on something you had a history of zero transactions. If I was to go on ebay today and bid on something, I would have a history of zero transactions. We all have to start somewhere. Or did you start in the middle somehow?

    @Ppyfss

    Please reread Black4dder’s comment. I don’t think they were complaining about zero transaction new members as much as they were alluding to the sheer number of “new” members. If a seller doesn’t like the bid they use a surrogate to up the bid and inflate the price. And what’s the best way to do that? Not with an established account that will get booted off if it’s found out what they were doing. Certainly not with their own account. So they just create a new account. So what if it gets trashed and banned for being a non-paying bidder.

    This one reminds me of an old reference I saw to imaginary numbers, like eleventeen and thirty-twelve.

    Today’s comic made me smile.
