heard that putting socks in the oven at low heat for couple minutes gives you toasty socks on those cold days.

If you fill a sock with uncooked rice, and tie it off, you can put it in the microwave for several minutes to warm it, and it will retain quite a bit of heat for a good while as a neck warmer, or hot pad for strained muscles and the like.

My wife has slippers filled with linseed. She zaps them and wears them to bed.

You can also use whole corn (the kind sold along side the bird seed). Supposedly it does not produce an odor like the rice does after multiple uses.

Years ago I put a damp bathtowel in the microwave to warm it during a cold winter night for my dog. It almost worked; I tried to increase the time a little too much, and suddenly I smelled burning popcorn (which was actually my smoldering bathtowel).

“In theory” means it is proven. Hypothetically is the word Vern should have used.

Bruno Zeigerts: Procynocide, and what genus is that turtle? We know it isn’t genius.

Try telling an experimental scientist that “in theory” means something is proven…
